  1. This is one of my favourite episodes in season 1. Brooke's alienation of Luke is, I think, quite an overreaction of the situation, and as we see it ended up causing trouble in their friendship. That being said, if someone said those kind of things about me and someone else, I would probably have overreacted in the same way and tried to stay away from that person as much as possible. :( Which is not right. Luke however doesn't go in that direction, and won't let it bother him or affect their friendship. Which is very admirable.
I think Timmy is a bit over gullible in this episode. I don't think a kid of that age would have the courage to jump from a high height, even with an umbrella. And as for the lesson of this episode, it is a very important topic that most people have problems with. Each word we say should be checked at the gate before it exits. I give this episode 5/5 stars.

  2. I think Brooke overreacted in that she should not have gotten angry at Luke. I also think Haley should have known better, but I think her talk with Grace helped her understand.
Timmy in this episode is like many young kids his age wanting to try new and different things. He should have asked his parents first or waited for Justin to help him and not listened to Michael about the umbrella! 4.5/5

  3. I think that it was ironic how Brad was making fun of them by saying "looks like some people found a life partner" when Brooke and Luke actually did get married in the end.
Looking back on my first opinion of this episode I remember thinking that Brooke was so old and grown up because she was in highschool, and that she should be old enough to date. In my mind she practically was a grown up. But now she's just a little freshman and her immaturity makes more sense.

I also think Brooke overreacted, but it was a very realistic overreaction. When she was yelling at Haley it didn't seem like it was over done because people really do get mad like that when things don't go their way.
I don't think Timmy was gullible! He was just being a little boy. When I was little I jumped off of our tall fence with a grocery bag as a parachute.

I struggle to tame my tongue because when someone's wrong about something I won't stop arguing the point.
