It's Off to a Retreat We Go!

Mary's going on a mother's retreat in this weekend's episode, which causes one Morrison kid to call out "Comeback, Mom"! Meanwhile, another DGL character is still not excited about her "Comeback Mom," but will some new information help change her attitude? The drama continues in this S5 episode--once you've heard it let us know what you think!
  • What real board game do you think Wordpoppers is most like? Would you be interested in playing this game?
  • Do you think Mary going off to a mother's retreat is a good change for the character? Was it fun hearing John having to cope with her absence?
  • Do you think the kids do a good job of helping their Dad? Was Timmy's over-reacting to his mom's temporary departure an interesting storyline?
  • Was Mary and Becca's conversation a beneficial part of the episode? Why do you think Becca will not trust either her dad or God?
  • What did you think of the scene when Joan Taylor revealed why she's come back to Coleraine? Why do you think Luke and Becca react in such different ways?
  • Was it good to hear Brooke back to her normal self after last week's episode, or did it seem too sudden?
You can read Brooke's journal entry that goes along with this show here (very minor spoilers are included). We look forward to receiving your reviews before 2PM on Tuesday, April 26!

  2. Brooke's journal entries pertaining to the last seven episodes of S5 used to be on the official DGL website. But since they're no longer there I'll try to remember to put them up each week.

  3. Aww man! I had written my entire reivew and clicked on "Post a Comment" and it said "We are sorry, but we were unable to complete your request" !!!!!

Now I have to type it all over again!!!!

My cell phone is still on the blink (haven't had time to take it to the service facility) so here's another text review.

What real board game do you think Wordpoppers is most like?

    Scrabble.

Would you be interested in playing this game?

I am not that keen on Scrabble. For word games, I prefer Scattergories, Pictionary, and Taboo.

Do you think Mary going off to a mother's retreat is a good change for the character?

Yes, she needed some down time! :-)

Was it fun hearing John having to cope with her absence?

Haha, yeah. My wife was hospitalized recently and I had to be Mr. Mom as well. I was able to do the housework, but it made life really hectic to be the single parent of a toddler and a preschooler for a few weeks!

Do you think the kids do a good job of helping their Dad?

Yes! I hope my girls would be that helpful when they're a little older!

Was Timmy's over-reacting to his mom's temporary departure an interesting storyline?

I had thought he would be older by now, but I guess even though it is season 5, it's only been about a year in DGL time since the start of the series, right?

Was Mary and Becca's conversation a beneficial part of the episode?

It help push Timmy more towards the edge.

Why do you think Becca will not trust either her dad or God?

She's still too hurt and unable to forgive from when Joan abandoned them.

What did you think of the scene when Joan Taylor revealed why she's come back to Coleraine?

Did I guess right or what? In last week's review, I had guessed that the reason she came back was because she was dying!

Why do you think Luke and Becca react in such different ways?

Luke has been more able to let go of his own hurt and forgive and be empathetic than Becca.

Was it good to hear Brooke back to her normal self after last week's episode, or did it seem too sudden?

It felt natural to me because I'm used to Brooke being so mature and good, and the "immature" Brookes from last week seemed less normal to me, and even the caffeine high Brooke from Insomnomaniacs was weird to me.
